An easy train ride from Zurich. A nice walk from the station across the Rhine into an exceptionally well preserved medieval town. For those wanting some more adventure, a walk up the hill to the Hohenklingen castle is absolutely worth it. You can take the bus, but the walk is so much more enjoyable. And make sure you have lunch in the castle restaurant.
