Girl on a Trail, New York for a song!
New York is considered one of the most expensive cities in the world. After a week’s holidays in the “Capital of the world”, I admit it’s so damn expensive. However, it doesn’t mean that you have to lose your shirt to see this city. On the contrary, a large number of attractions is available there for a few dollars or even free of charge. Drink on the roof Entrance to the terraces of New York skyscrapers can be pricey, on average it costs 40 $. You need around spare 120$ to visit viewing platforms in Empire State Building, Top of the Rock in Rockefeller Center and One World Observatory. However,…

Milan – one day trip
The airport in Bergamo is an excellent hub for farther travel across Lombardy and other regions in Italy. If you have a free weekend, no plans and around 40€ in your pocket, I invite you for a short one-day trip to Milan! In order to save on accommodation, it’s best to buy tickets for the morning flight and return in the evening. I flew from Warsaw early in the morning, while on the way back I took advantage of Ryanair (departure at 9.20 pm to Warsaw – Modlin Airport). Total cost ticket was around 20€. From the Orio al Serio Airport you can get to Milan by bus. There’re many…

I guess everyone knows that feeling when you want to go somewhere for a while, but you don’t want to spend a lot of money and take day off from work. In such a situation, you can go somewhere in your beautiful country or just take a plane and within 4 hours’ time you can sit in a cafe sipping aromatic Italian cappuccino in Piazza Bra in Verona 😉 A little organisation… How to go to Verona for just one day, saving on accommodation? On the way from Warsaw to Bergamo I used Wizzair which flies very early in the morning (plane lands in Bergamo at 8.30 am). On the…

Tip for a trip – weekend on the Lake Como!
What’s the best way to say good-bye to winter? Purchase a flight to Bergamo at a discounted price and in just 3 hours’ sip aromatic Italian cappuccino in a cosy cafe with a view of the famous lake Como. What can you visit there and how to organize this trip on budget? As a short introduction, there’s a lot to see, because Lake Como is the third largest lake in Italy, right after lake Garda and Maggiore. What’s more is one of the most deepest lakes in Europe, in some places its depth reaches over 400 m. One can say that size matters, but in my humble opinion the sights…

Renting a car
A car on a holiday gives independence and possibility to visit a lot of places in a relatively short time. Nowadays, rental prices are so competitive that it’s better to leave our car at home. Is renting a car a very complicated thing? The answer is no, however you need to know several things to avoid possible problems. Documents: To hire a car abroad, you need: ID or passport, driving license (in some countries, additionally an international driving license is required) and credit card. There’re a lot of rental companies, but in our opinion is better to book a car from well – known companies like: Avis, Budget, Dollar,…

Gothenburg – cheap trip
The idea of going to Gothenburg appeared spontaneously, actually, as it usually happens it was connected with big promotion in Ryanair. Having the alternative between spending Valentine’s Day at home or going to Gothenburg for only 4 €, our choice was obvious. Of course, there’s one catch when you buy such cheap tickets. Usually it turns out that on the spot, especially in Sweden, prices aren’t promotional. In such situations, common sense tells us to resign, that the idea of spending romantic Valentines in the middle of winter in Sweden is ridiculous ant it’s only a matter of losing 4 €. Fortunately we’re neither rational nor romantic 😉 So,…

Tallinn, Helsinki and Petersburg without visa – budget travel
We weren’t planning the trip to Tallinn, Helsinki and Petersburg. Actually everything started from LOT special offer for the flights: Warsaw – Tallinn and Helsinki – Warsaw. From Tallinn to Helsinki we traveled by Tallink ferry, but it’s possible to go with other companies such as Viking Line or Eckero Line. You need to check in at least 30 minutes before the departure of the ferry. Check-in desk is located at the Terminal D. Tallink shuttles 6 times a day and the voyage takes around 2 hours and definitely it isn’t boring (you can read about it here). The ferry arrives at the West Harbor. To the city center you can go…

How much does 6-day trip to Denmark and Sweden cost?
Is it possible to organize 6- day trip to Denmark and Sweden on budget? In a fact the cost is a relative concept, what’s cheap for some for others is beyond reach. During our trip to these countries we tried to reduce the costs of transport and accommodation maximally. On the other hand it doesn’t mean that we lived there as hermits. We stayed in an apartment located in the city center, visited everything what had been planned, used public transport and tasted very good food. Was it cheap or expensive? Take a look and assess 🙂 Our trip was a little bit complicated because we wanted to visit Denmark…
